ABOUT US
Welcome to the Gandhi Rachnatmak Samiti: where we believe in, "No call is
greater than public service".
Since its inception in 1969, Gandhi Rachnatmak Samiti (GRS) at BIT Sindri has
epitomized our enduring dedication to socio-cultural excellence. Serving as a vibrant socio-cultural
club, GRS fosters a diverse community of students, providing opportunities for talent celebration
and skill development. Through a plethora of engaging activities, it cultivates communication and
social skills while fostering a sense of camaraderie among participants. GRS aims to create an
environment where lasting friendships are formed, shared interests are embraced, and memorable
experiences are cherished. Upholding the values of public service and socio-cultural enrichment, GRS
empowers students to contribute meaningfully to society and embark on a journey of personal and
professional growth during their time at BIT Sindri.
FOUNDER'S MESSAGE

It is my immense pleasure to address on the historic launch of GRS website of our
college this evening . First of all I would like to thank and praise the present GRS Office Bearers
and Members for quick response on the action plan decided just a few days ago during our PJ on 15th-
17 th November 2024...under the guidance of most respected seniors, like Dr Amarendu Prakash ,Mr
Thakur and team...
The GRS has already crossed 50+ yrs and still going stronger ...So all the past office bearers and members deserve full credit and applaud...from all us.....The help and support of College management also has been very very encouraging though out..we must also thank them...
Coming to the history of our GRS library ,it first started in a hostel room,with the help of old books donated by like minded friends...as the no of books and members started increasing,we felt the need of a room and thus a room in Science block was given to us by Dr K P Gupta,Ex Director .
We started our library in a structured manner and there and named Gandhi Library. It used to open every evening one hr (4 pm to 5 pm ) ,members contribution 1/- per month and we used to have discussion on some topic...every Saturday ....
To keep the momentum of books inflow, we felt need of funds,so we started screening old films on Saturday / Sunday in our Despande Auditorium...the income thus earned became sufficient to buy books from publishing houses like Rajkamal Prakashan,etc....
We also started publishing weekly wall magazine ..Madhyam ,nicely hand written by our friend Padmshree Birendra Thakur (1968 batch prod) displayed on the wall of Administrative Building..on every Saturday evening.
As the activities went more and more day wise day,the name Gandhi Rachnatmak Samiti suggested for the team. Time passed away ,I visited college in the year 2003 on invitation to attend Kislay and was happy and taken to surprise to see the library shifted near new canteen building with more books and also nicely being managed...by the team.
Again, I visited in November 2019 during our batch Golden Jubilee Meet..and became more happy to see GRS going stronger..
Once again our many congratulations to the team on the launch of the GRS website I wish and pray for all the success of the website in years to come..संगठन में शक्ति
